The last week of December has always felt like a special in-between time—a quieter, reflective period to slow down, reset lightly, and prepare for the new year ahead. This week can help us find a balance between indulging in the season’s joys and starting to shift into a fresh mindset.
I call it a light reset. You can still enjoy your favorite treats and traditions while taking small steps to prepare for what’s next. For example, the last few days I let some of my regular practices slide—like yoga. Today, I decided to make a short yoga session the first thing I did before sitting down at my laptop. That simple act grounded me and gave me a sense of calm as I moved into the day.
I recently came across a post on Facebook about 15 Tiny Habits That Will Change Your Life in 2025. To my delight, most of them take just two minutes or less! Actions like making your bed, drinking a full glass of water in the morning, stepping outside, reading a meaningful passage, or watering a plant might seem small, but they add up. Sending a quick good morning text, jotting down a thought in a journal, or even pausing for a deep breath are easy ways to build positivity and momentum.
As we move through this final week of the year, embrace a few two-minute habits to set yourself up for success. These small acts can bring clarity and intention to the days ahead.
This in-between time is a gift—a bridge between seasons that invites us to savor the present while gently stepping into the future. What small habits are you embracing this week? I’d love to hear how you’re resetting and preparing for the new year ahead.
