If you’re new to the blog, this is a chance to catch up with a short compilation of the week’s posts and links, and if you’re a regular reader, thank you – I appreciate the feedback and the forwards to your friends. It’s a joy to share discoveries that may enrich your life as they are my own.

Writing and Personal Growth go Hand in Hand – Did this post inspire you? Try this simple idea: Set a two-minute timer and just write what ever comes to mind. If you do this two times a week, you’ll be amazed at what you learn.

Back Road Benefits – We’re never too old to make new friends, and it’s worth a short road trip to nurture these relationships – plus you don’t want to miss a link to my friend’s new blog, Silverish Simplicity; it’s just what we need as the holiday hustle begins and the new year approaches.

Everyday Joys

This week has brought so many joys, and I hope yours has as well:

  • Duke joined me for morning yoga, and when my session wrapped up, he took over the whole mat.
  • My friend (and hairdresser) fabulously styled me with a new, short, sassy do, and we had a chance to catch up on life, families and home projects.
  • I attended a retirement party for a business mentor who facilitated our Women Presidents Organization peer group since 2006.
  • Our team delivered a celebration gift to one of our client’s office managers who is retiring – she’s been an enthusiastic part of our work. We also enjoyed a pre-holiday lunch with another client. It was festive and fun to enjoy a beautiful dining room and conversations on non-work topics.
  • I reconnected with the high school principal, who was instrumental in helping me start a drug and alcohol awareness program for parents; the program spread throughout our district and is the foundation for work I do with the Minnesota Prevention and Recovery Alliance.
  • A walk-and-talk with my friend on Friday was a delightful detour from my typical Friday, plus it was an opportunity to deepen our friendship.
  • Saturday included phone conversations with both my sisters, and plenty of pre-Thanksgiving tasks in the kitchen and dining room.
  • And, today, we’re looking forward to spending the afternoon with our grandson.

There is joy in each connection and each relationship, and always something new to learn.

Rose
