A few months ago, I searched for podcasts to inspire our home updates and discovered ideas from all over the world. In the links below, discover phenomenal expertise from Utah to Great Britain!
A remodel might not seem like mindfulness or personal growth, but in reality, our homes reflect who we are, our lifestyles and what nurtures us, and the process entails exploration and discovery to create spaces that enrich our lives.
Our remodel doesn’t involve moving walls or changing the footprint. Instead, we’re updating colors, flooring, countertops, cabinetry and appliances (and it’s no less of a process or timeline!) while honoring the parts of our home that continue to serve us well.
The whole process is about choices. Some days, I’ll find something intriguing, but then I sit with it only to find something better. On other days, everything looks the same, and nothing speaks to me as being the right item. Again, by giving it time, items present themselves, and it’s fun to create boards of what our space will become – one part gratitude for this opportunity and one part dream for possibilities.
Here are a few thoughts on home updates:
Reflect on Your Lifestyle: Does your home mirror who you are today? Small changes, like refreshing a room’s color or rearranging furniture, can make your space feel more aligned with your current life.
Balance Beauty and Function: Your home should support your everyday life. Whether you work from home, entertain, or have a busy household, make sure your space is both functional and brings you joy.
Let Your Space Evolve: There’s no rush to do it all at once. Just as life evolves, so should your home. Make updates over time for a deeper connection to your space.
Honor What’s Meaningful: Keep elements that have sentimental value but introduce fresh ideas. A home that reflects both your past and future offers comfort and growth.
When your home reflects your lifestyle, it creates a sense of peace and harmony—something we can all achieve in our own time.
