Even with a fancy smartphone with an exceptionally high-quality built-in camera, I’m not a photographer. I click and shoot lots of photos on walks, in the kitchen, of my family (but they prefer not to be posted!), and from travel.
Some images are blurry, and many lack the style or composition to compliment the subject, but the photos offer a vision from me to you and a way to complement the approximately two-minute, 400-word posts.
Although nowhere near perfection, I do like sharing my own photos and feel these are most fitting for Two Minute Du Jour posts.
I mostly opt for nature photos because these symbolize life stages, growth, and the juxtaposition of simplicity and complexity. Flowers, leaves, trees and bushes always catch my eye, and I’m blessed to have many options for capturing nature. In particular, flowers and their stems and leaves are sometimes colorful and other times camouflaged, but they are always intricate and ever-changing. It’s amazing to observe these in different stages throughout the season. See below, for example.

Occasionally, I choose a stock image if I don’t have a good photo to share. The only thing worse than stock photography is AI-generated images. Oh my, do these ever miss the mark. Overall, I opt for amateur over professional and personal over stock because this content is about authenticity and personal growth.

Love this post and picture, and interesting comment about plant changes. Here are photo’s of an interesting mushroom in my yard – what a change from day to day. Nature is amazing!
