It’s the Fourth of July, a celebration of freedom in the United States, so today’s post considers this important principle relative to personal growth.

Freedom is essential to exploring, innovating, and creating drivers of individual growth and the creation of a healthy and prosperous life. With it, we can indeed be ourselves, which is essential for happiness, joy, and success.

It’s about owning yourself, improving your skills, learning new ones, refining what you have been told, and developing strengths and talents. Fully developing your abilities and making a conscious effort to own your growth is crucial.

Freedom is supported by responsibilities and choices, including the declaration of independence and the pursuit of happiness. Freedom is at the top of my core values list, and everything else stems from that.

A Personal Declaration of Independence

Consider what you might include in a personal declaration of independence. Perhaps you made choices and feel stuck. Maybe you let people and things control you rather than learning to take responsibility for your decisions, actions, and thoughts. Remember, it’s something we can learn through experience.

Pursuit of Happiness

Think about what makes you happy and what you do to pursue it. This is the ultimate way to take care of yourself, and in doing so, you can bring your best to the people and things that are important to you.

Freedom Empowers Growth

Freedom means making choices that empower us and bring us growth—physical, mental, emotional, social and spiritual. It is carried out through family, friendship, society, and work. Freedom is not about doing whatever we want, whenever we want. It’s a conscious choice of consistently doing things that make us free.
