Happy Father’s Day to all the dads out there. We’ll be celebrating my husband later today and reminiscing about Father’s Days past when our dads were still alive.

This photo was taken circa 1979 with my dad and my sisters. If I recall, it’s an Easter photo but imagine it was Father’s Day and that we’re playing checkers and churning homemade ice cream instead of being dressed for church.

Enjoying a Lovely Summer Weekend

I eased into the weekend, starting Friday morning with quiet time on the front porch. This was followed by a call with a friend who has moved away (her passion project will be a link on Friday!) and a three-mile walk with my neighbor across the street, who is starting a new job soon. It was great to catch up with friends!

My work team and I had a short Hula Huddle on Zoom before heading out for their Summer Fridays, and then my husband and I spent the afternoon taking the Artisan Home Tour.

For Friday’s dinner, he made grilled tuna with ginger, soy sauce and Wasabi (healthy and yum!). Continuing with the fish and seafood theme, I made shrimp with lime, garlic and a splash of tequila on Saturday.

We watched the latest episode of The Chi and also caught the new documentary Brats, produced by Andrew McCarthy. It features interviews with Rob Lowe, Demi Moore, Emilio Estevez, Judd Nelson, and Ally Sheedy; it was just OK but certainly captured the ’80s era.
